Study Questions

Answers about who the course suits, what you work on, what you need to bring and what you can realistically expect to finish.

Questions before you begin

Here are the questions learners ask most often before starting. If yours is missing, write to us through the contact page and we will answer it plainly.

Who is this course meant for?

The course suits podcasters, interview hosts and streamers who record in a spare room, office corner or small studio and want a tidy, welcoming frame. You do not need design training. If you can take photographs and handle a tape measure, you can follow every lesson.

Do I need any equipment or software beforehand?

You need a phone or camera that takes clear photographs, a tape measure, paper and pencils. A simple notes app or spreadsheet helps for recording measurements. Colour studies and layout plans are drawn by hand, so no design software is required, though you may use it if you already know it.

What will I actually produce during the course?

You build one project around your own room: a set of photographs and measurements, a colour palette and mood board, background sketches, a seating plan and a scaled layout. Each module adds a piece, so by the end you hold a complete concept you can set up yourself.

How are the lessons structured?

Each module combines short explanations with hands-on work: sketches, colour studies and labelled concept examples that show why a choice was made. You work on your own room between lessons, so the practice always applies to a space you will really record in.

Is the setup day compulsory?

No. The Layout Plan and Setup Day module teaches you how to run a calm setup session, but it is optional. Some learners finish with the scaled plan and arrange the room later at their own pace. Others follow the setup lessons straight away while the plan is fresh.

Can I plan a space for two or three guests?

Yes. The Furniture Placement module covers seating distances, angles and sightlines for one, two or three people on camera. You choose the arrangement that matches your show, and the instructors explain how each option changes what the camera sees and how guests feel.

How should I prepare my room before starting?

Clear the walls and floor enough to see them, note where daylight enters and where the power outlets are, and take a few photographs from the camera position. Measure the width, depth and ceiling height. The first module walks you through each of these steps.

What results can I realistically expect?

You will leave with a clear, organised plan for your recording space and the confidence to explain every choice in it. The course cannot promise audience growth or income. It gives you a frame that looks composed, a method you can repeat, and a layout ready to build.
