Plan a recording space that looks composed on camera

glamixura teaches podcasters, interview hosts and streamers to plan and style their recording rooms. We have taught room-to-frame planning since 2017, from first photographs to a finished layout.

How you practise

Learn by working on your own room, step by step

Every lesson starts from something real: your room photographs, your measurements and your camera. You sketch, test colours and label your own concept examples, so each module ends with something you can use in your next recording.

  • Room photographs and notes

    Room photographs and notes

Photograph your room from the guest's seat and the host's seat, measure each wall, note where daylight and lamps fall, then mark what the camera will see and what it will ignore.

  • Sketches and colour studies

    Sketches and colour studies

Draw shelves and panels by hand, then test warm neutral palettes against your skin tones, your guests and your camera before you buy a single can of paint or a new lamp.

  • Layout plans you can follow

Finish with a scaled plan showing seating, distances, sightlines and props, plus a calm, optional setup session you can run alone or with a friend, at your own pace.

Six modules from empty room to finished frame

The course moves in the order a real project does. You begin by reading your room, then choose colour, design the background, place furniture, style props and turn it all into a layout plan. Each module has sketches, studies or labelled concept examples to work through.

  1. Reading Your Room

Learn to photograph and measure a room, note light sources and spot what will and will not appear in the frame.

  2. Colour and Mood Boards

Build warm neutral palettes and a mood board that fits your guests, your topic and your camera.

  3. Background Design

Sketch shelves, panels and wall treatments that give depth behind the speaker without clutter.

  4. Furniture Placement

Plan seating distances, angles and sightlines for one, two or three people on camera.

  5. Props and Styling Details

Choose and arrange books, plants, lamps and objects so every item has a reason to be in shot.

  6. Layout Plan and Setup Day

Turn your concept into a scaled layout plan and learn how to run a calm, optional setup session.

What guides the work

Principles behind every lesson in the course

A tidy frame is rarely about spending more. It comes from looking carefully, choosing a little and being able to say why each object is there. These principles shape how lessons are written, how feedback is given and how your own layout plan is built, from the first photograph to the last sketch.

  1. Clarity

Clarity means every lesson ends with a decision you can see on paper. A measured wall becomes a labelled sketch, a mood board names its colours and a layout plan shows real distances. Terms are explained in plain words, and we point to what the camera will actually capture, so nothing stays vague or left to guesswork.

  2. Warmth

Warmth shapes both the spaces we teach and the way we teach them. We favour soft neutrals, natural textures and seating that helps guests relax, because comfortable people look better on camera. Feedback is kind and specific, and no room is treated as a poor starting point, however small, awkward or full of boxes.

  3. Practicality

Practicality keeps every plan honest. You work with the furniture, budget and corner you already have, and you learn to move, reuse or remove before you think of buying. The setup day is optional and calm, with a clear order of tasks, plenty of breaks and nothing that needs special tools or a large crew.
